Dear brother, Please move that mountain

Please.

Eye contact and why it matters

I want to know if it’s me your talking to. You may call me by name but without you looking at me, I might assume you are calling somebody else’s attention or maybe you are just thinking out loud.

I want to see your sincerity. What is your intention? Are you telling the truth? Do your eyes agree with the words of your mouth? That, I will know when you look me in the eyes.

Lastly, I want to know how important it is to you for me to listen. Speaking face to face with me, with your eyes staring mine, or even just glancing at me once in a while, will give me the hint that I must listen intently because what you are saying really matters.

Can we give thanks without having a grateful heart?

Empty words. Those are words we need not hear nor say because they mean nothing. That’s how it is when we say thanks without being grateful.

We can’t just say we are thankful, we got to live it out. When we say we thank God for giving us a new day, we should spend the day doing what we are supposed to do and not just let the hours pass by till the sun sets again. When we say we thank God for our families, we should spend time with them, listen to their concerns, and think of ways to express our love and care for them. When we thank God for our successes, we should give Him all the praises and glory and not take it as our own. We know we could have not done it without God so let’s thank Him by telling that truth to others. If we are indeed thankful that He gave us life through Jesus Christ, we should live for Him all the days of our life

When we give thanks it should be from the heart – from a grateful heart. Don’t ever try saying “thank you” with your eyes rolling. Giving thanks can’t be done while being grumpy.

I’m on a 5-day vacation now for our family thanksgiving and I feel like I did it wrong yesterday. I am sorry, Lord. Oh well, I got four more days to grow and learn more about giving thanks, so yeah.

Create in me a grateful heart, O God. Let me live my life thanking You for everything. And oh, thanks for this bird-chirping musical morning. Amen.

How I decided to teach again this school year (instead of translating)

Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Trust in the LORD and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He’ll make your path straight.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Why do you call me “Lord, Lord,” and does not do what I say?

Let your Yes be yes, and your No be no.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

God’s gifts and calling can’t be taken back.

If your gift is teaching, devote yourself to teaching.

Don’t think that you’re so smart. Consider everyone as equal, and don’t think that you’re better than anyone else.

If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord.  Therefore whether we live or die, we belong to God.

I have a goal to preach the gospel where they haven’t heard of Christ yet.  Those who hadn’t been told about Him will see, and those who hadn’t heard will understand.

Jesus said to everyone, “All who want to come after me must say no to themselves, take up their cross daily, and follow me.

All things are from Him and through Him and for Him.  May the glory be to Him forever. Amen.

To my best friend whom I miss so much

Hi Cha!

I want to mail you a letter but I don’t know what to say. I just want to let you know I miss you and I still care for you and I long to hear your stories and share mine, too. That’s all. Probably, I’ll send it tomorrow. Yeah, hopefully I’d find the words to say hihi.

Oh, what a drama! But I want no more dramas. I miss us being so carefree, talking about things that lighten up our loads and brighten up our faces. HAHA I miss our spontaneous conversations. Let’s chat over a cup of coffee (oh, we don’t drink coffee together, maybe let’s just chat over, ahm, buns filled with condensed milk and cheese? Yeah, I miss that merienda with you.) I miss you. Let’s meet soon. Yeah, soon. As soon as possible. But really, I don’t know what stories I would share. I guess, I just want to be with you, to sit beside you and watch the fountain up and splash and whatever. Yes, I just want to be with you. 🙂

I hope to see you soon. Take care coz I care. HAHA I love you Cha. ❤

With smiles and prayers,

Jas 🙂

Sayang ang kanin – malata yung ibabaw, mapait yung ilalim.

Bantayan kasi, wag basta pabayaan.

Wag ganun!
